Terry Hunter is a house and disco DJ and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. Over three decades, he has created soulful house music including the 2007 global dance classic "Wonderful" and co-founded Chicago House DJ Day in 2011.
Terry Hunter is a South Side native who found his love for making music through house and disco, and he has spent the past three decades working from that foundation. In 1990, he produced his first release "Madness", which became an underground hit. In 2007 he released 'Wonderful' which became a global dance classic. What animates Hunter's work is a commitment to keeping soulful house music alive—not as a museum piece, but as a living practice. In 2011, Hunter conceived and co-produced the first 'Chicago House DJ Day', bringing together for the first time 100 of the most influential DJs in Chicago house music. His track 'We Are One: A Movement for Life' spoke out against the violence in Chicago's communities, and the track's profits were donated to local violence-reduction organisations. His remixes of Beyonce's Break My Soul and Mariah Carey's Workin' Hard earned him consecutive Grammy nominations in 2023 and 2024 in the Best Remixed Recording category.
