Good Room is a nightclub in Greenpoint that occupies a former Polish queer venue on Meserole Avenue. It operates two rooms programming house, techno, and disco, with a calibrated d&b audiotechnik sound system.
Good Room opened in 2014 in a former Polish queer club on Meserole Avenue (wooden floors, steel ceilings, a disco ball hanging over the dance floor) and has been making the case ever since that a neighborhood bar and a proper club don't have to be separate things. The sound system is d&b audiotechnik, calibrated by Oxygen Eventworks, and the programming runs deep: house, techno, disco, and anything that earns a place on that floor. Two rooms keep the night from collapsing into a single mood: the main room for the big selectors, the Bad Room for left-field tangents and surprise turns. What Good Room keeps returning to is a straightforward conviction: that a club should be open to everyone and accountable to the music first.
Fun Stuff covers what's worth showing up for in Williamsburg every week, including programming at Good Room. Free.
