BKLYN CLAY

BKLYN CLAY is a ceramics studio in Prospect Heights. The 5,260-square-foot space accommodates 210 members with 44 wheels, designed for independent artists working at open studio rather than structured classes.

Jennifer Waverek founded BKLYN CLAY to provide practicing and experienced creatives with access to quality ceramics space. The studio's signature move isn't the usual pottery-class model. The Prospect Heights location holds 210 members in a 5,260-square-foot space with 44 wheels, designed for artists who can work independently. Open studio for hands, not just another evening class. What Waverek built matters: the studio was conceived as "an elevated space," recognizing that "it's really hard to keep ceramics studios clean, really hard to keep them clutter-free." Between the Prospect Heights and Tribeca branches, they see roughly 1,500 people walk in and out each week. The work keeps returning to the same question: how do you build a clean, serious space where clay stays uncompromising?
