Bar Laika

Bar Laika is a bar in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Opened in 2018 by e-flux, it combines a seasonal seafood menu with weekly film screenings and monthly experimental music programming.

Bar Laika opened in Clinton Hill in 2018 by e-flux, a publishing platform and curatorial force founded in 1998. The space merges a seasonal seafood and vegetable menu (curated over a decade with artist-chef Hsiao Chen) with a weekly screening program and a monthly experimental music program. The cocktail list is organized by artist and bartender Danna Vajda, and the music is selected by DJ Sanna Almajedi. Oversized artists' posters specially commissioned for Bar Laika appear on the B52 Greene Ave/Grand Ave bus shelter. The bar treats hospitality and exhibition as inseparable—a place where strangers become collaborators over dinner and a film.
