Moin

Moin is a post-hardcore and dance music trio from Brooklyn, NY. The group merges industrial techno production with guitar and bass songwriting, then fragments and reassembles drum tracks into compositions bridging club music and post-rock intensity.

Moin builds music from a collision that shouldn't hold together: Raime's Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead (producers who came up making suffocating industrial techno for Blackest Ever Black) write guitar and bass parts and then hand Valentina Magaletti's drum tracks through an edit, slicing her playing into pieces before reassembling the whole into something that lands between post-hardcore and dance music. On their debut Moot!, that meant worshipping at the pressure points of Slint and Shellac inside a club-music framework. By You Never End (2024), the trio had pulled in vocalists (Sophia Al-Maria, Olan Monk, James K) and the collage grew more unsettling, more human. The drum is always the load-bearing wall: Magaletti's motorik precision anchors the disorientation even as Andrews and Halstead warp the structure around her. What Moin keeps returning to is the gap between rock grammar and electronic logic. And what falls through it.

Never miss a Moin performance.
