Hans Rosenström is an artist based in Stockholm. He creates site-specific sound installations using transducers mounted to locally-sourced materials, exploring how human voice and industrial structures interact within their environments.
Hans Rosenström, born 1978 in Lohja, Finland, is now based in Stockholm. Through his site-specific installations, Rosenström uses sound to heighten awareness of our presence and connection to the environment around us. He is interested in the fleeting, almost organic nature of the human voice in contrast with the sleek architectural structures of reflective glass facades. Using transducer speakers mounted to locally-sourced industrial glass, steel and reclaimed wood, he creates sound interventions that examine how ecology and industry coexist. He sees the viewer's presence as pivotal for the existence of the work, allowing for a psychological and physical experience within a specific moment or space.
