DARKSIDE

DARKSIDE is an electronic and psychedelic rock band based in Brooklyn, NY. The trio of Dave Harrington, Nicolas Jaar, and drummer Tlacael Esparza blend guitar and electronic processing across albums including their 2013 debut Psychic and 2025's Nothing.

DARKSIDE conjures a hybrid of electronic music and psychedelic rock, Dave Harrington's guitar and Nicolas Jaar's processing working on primal instinct. The pair met at Brown and spent years touring before settling into collaboration. Their debut Psychic arrived in 2013 on Matador Records, but the real reconstitution came with drummer Tlacael Esparza joining as a full-time member, fundamentally changing the sound and spirit of the band. Nothing, their first album as a trio, arrived in February 2025. The practice keeps returning to the space between electronic and acoustic, between precision and intuition—music built for rooms where strangers become singular.
