BLOND:ISH is the DJ and producer project of Vivie-Ann Bakos, known for genre-blending sets that emphasize spiritual and communal dimensions of the dancefloor.
Vivie-Ann Bakos builds her practice around a single conviction: that a dancefloor can be a portal, not just a party. Working under the name BLOND:ISH, the Montreal-born, Ibiza-based DJ and producer moves between melodic house, Afro house, and psychedelic techno: less concerned with genre purity than with what the music opens up in a room. In 2017 she launched Abracadabra as a record label and event series simultaneously, turning it into a full cultural operation that now holds a headline residency at Pacha Ibiza. Off the decks, her Bye Bye Plastic Foundation developed an Eco-Rider (a sustainability clause for touring artists' contracts) that over 1,500 DJs have signed, keeping more than 325,000 single-use plastic bottles out of venues. The question she keeps returning to is whether joy and responsibility have to be in tension at all.
